Why I Believe in God

As a school-aged child, I noticed that I did better in school when I prayed to God for success. During my high school years, I realized I wasn't able to live as well as I would have liked. I felt guilt over my poor lifestyle choices. I started reading the Bible. Gradually, the secret of faith began to unfold. Jesus died for me, atoning for my past and future wrongdoings, words, and thoughts. I encounter the risen Jesus in the Bible, especially in the Gospels. He does not leave me; instead, He gives my life direction and purpose. Jesus says: "I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty."
