Why I Believe in God
As a school-aged child, I noticed that I did better in school when I prayed to God for success. During my high school years, I realized I wasn't able to live as well as I would have liked. I felt guilt over my poor lifestyle choices. I started reading the Bible. Gradually, the secret of faith began to unfold.
God sent his son Jesus to die for mankind. Jesus has died for me too and atoned for my past and future wrongdoings, words, and thoughts. Jesus did not remain in the grave, but rose from the dead. Faith is not just thinking this to be true, but a relationship with Jesus. I encounter the risen Jesus in the Bible, especially in the Gospels. He does not leave me; instead, He gives my life direction and purpose. Jesus says: "I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty."
